Climate change legislation presents a new set of business risks, as well as opportunities, for today's organizations. The potential for imposed emissions limits, efficiency standards and a proposed carbon "cap and trade" system require action to assure your business is well positioned for these new requirements.

The Signature EcoSmart program provides tools to mitigate these risks and capitalize on the opportunities:

GHG Aggregation

The Signature EcoSmart GHG aggregation product is a tool for customers to monetize or acquire certified Carbon Offsets, regardless of the size of your project.

By pooling the results of your efficiency endeavors with other customers, we provide a vehicle to aggregate emission reductions and receive value for efforts which otherwise may have gone untapped.

As a carbon aggregator, we will handle all aspects of the transaction from the detailed verification and registration process to liquidation.

Projects that may be sources of offset creation include:

• Renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, biomass, biodiesel)
• Energy efficiency projects (lighting, HVAC, green roofs, best practices)
• Methane capture from landfills or livestock
• Destruction of GHG's (anaerobic digestion)
• Carbon sequestration (reforestation and afforestation)
• Reduction of other GHG's such as methane and nitrous oxide may also qualify

In addition, we can provide guidance and transaction services for entities wishing to purchase carbon credits as a means of offsetting emissions for mandatory or voluntary compliance.

Renewables

Signature Energy Management understands that customers may have a desire to reduce their exposure to climate change through renewable energy. By either owning renewable power generation or by purchasing attributes via Renewable Energy Credits (REC's), we can guide you through the process of developing and monetizing accredited renewable products.
